Homework for Monday, March 10

Here is the homework for today.  Answer the following word problems on loose-leaf paper to turn in tomorrow.  Show your work to receive credit. Use your notes for help.  Think about equal perimeters and equal areas.

1.)  The area of Andrew's garden is 32 sq. feet.  Two sides of the fence measure 8 feet.  What are the lengths of the other two sides?

2.  Oscar is going to put up a fence in his neighbor's rectangular garden.  He doesn't know how much fencing he needs, but he does know that the yard is 30 sq. ft.  What are the possible dimension combinations (length and width) of the garden?  Draw this out.

3.)  Melissa measured the perimeter of her walls in her room.  She wants to put new tiles on her floor.  The perimeter she measured was 40 feet.  What are the possible areas of her floor? Draw these out.
