Homework for Wednesday, April 30th

The homework blog is back!  Complete the following two-step equations for homework on loose-leaf paper to turn in. Show all of your work and steps to get the full credit.

Remember that x/5  means x ÷ 5,

1.)  7X + 21 = 77      2.) 9X + 15 = 123

3.) 5X - 18 = 42        4.)  8C - 31 = 41

5.)  X/7  +  11 = 14     6.)  B/10 - 13 = 117

Solve the following two-step inequalities and graph them on a number line.

7.)  X/11  + 3  ≥  91

8.)  12X  - 7  <  79

Bonus:

9.) ZiBin has at least 24 Pokemon cards in his bookbag but less than 40.  Graph the possible number of Pokemon cards ZiBin has on a number line.

10.) Melissa has no more than 8 pairs of earrings and Breanna has at least 12 pairs.  Graph these two inequalities on the same number line.  What are 2 possible numbers of pairs that neither Melissa nor Breanna may have?

Homework for Monday, April 21st

The first part of your homework is to finish the independent and dependent variable problems from class today.

Finish the following on loose-leaf paper.

1.) Jennifer needs to order pizzas for her slumber party. Each pizza costs $9.  Find the cost, C, of how much she would spend on her pizzas P.

Write the equation
Find the independent and dependent variables.

2.) Jessica bought packs of Pokemon cards.  6 Cards come in each pack.  Write an equation to that helps you find how many cards, C, she gets after buying multiple packs, P.

Write the equation
Find the independent and dependent variables.

3.) Javier is ordering some new videogames online.  Each used game costs $25 and the  shipping is $5 for all of the games, no matter how many you order.  Write an equation that shows how much Javier spent, C, on games (G) with the $5 shipping.

Write the equation.
Find the independent and dependent variables.
